The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2

With great, and I mean GREAT, anticipation of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2, scheduled to hit theaters tonight, Thursday 15th November @ 10p.m. (I'm seeing it at 10p.m. in VA), I have decided to dedicate this post to The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 and the style expressions that were a great fit to the installment. (I honestly did not have the time to commit to all the installments).

|1. Style =Expression - Where did she get those shoes?

I have to admit I was in love the first time I laid eyes on them. Elegant, Classy and Sophisticated. Bella's wedding shoes are impeccable.

|2. Style = Expression  - The Wedding Dress

The simplicity of the slim fit, accompanied by the elegant lace back is just beautiful, not to mention the fit is extremely flattering to her body and gives a hint of an hour glass frame.

It has a vintage feel to it simply because it seems like it is was born in another era. I Loved the dress!

Additionally, it was refreshing to see a clumsy Bella dressed up.

|3. Style = Expression - Accessories

Something Old and Something New, such a great gift on her wedding day, I loved the hair clip. There is nothing else to say.

|4. Style=Expression - Cake for Everyone!

The cake was elegant and simply and matched the decor of the fantasy wedding. Such a great style expression!

|5. Style = Expression - The Venue
I probably should have posted this earlier but either way, it would be foolish not to mention or highlight the remarkable accomplishment of  that set designers in recreating a romantic wedding scene true to, what I hope was the author's vision and even more so, to the expectation of her fans. It is a great artistically creative fantasy wedding and the depiction creates a great sense of elegance and romance. Yeah for style on this one!

|6. Style = Expression - Can I live here please?

Secluded island with a house by the beach made of glass... huh... sets the mood for baby making on your honey moon. (lol)  Seriously though it is a tropical get-a-way that is just divine.

|7. Style=Expression - A Little Drama

I had to include the dramatization in this picture because of the expressive art within it. This is simply my view, but the blood stained white wedding attire over a pile of blood stained in white bodies, under an arch of dead flowers and twigs, is brilliant in its representation of death and the subconscious worry Bella faces in becoming a vampire. OOoo the unexpected  fear of it all.

|8. Style= Expression - The Vampire

In anticipation of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2
Enjoy your Trip to the Movies Tonight!!

Fragrance of the Month

Accessories are great and we all know what we usually consider to be accessories jewelry, belts etc. My take on accessories also include fragrances.

When it comes to beauty our senses tend to run very high and aid in determining what we view or perceive as attractive. One of the lasting impressions we can make on an individual pertains to the sense of smell.

How you smell (general odor is important lol) tells a lot about your Style Expression. Some fragrances are light with an air of femininity, others are candy and girly, some are even strong yet womanly.

It's only fitting then to pick perfumes that express you!

For me it's a matter of finding a few perfumes that I like then alternating them.
You ask WHY??? ... Well because I believe that fragrance truly is another way to express myself. So the way I smell while at school or work should be different from the way I smell when I'm out on the town.

Think about it this way would you wear your "hot & sexy cleavage accessory dress" to work or school - you know that dress that is super short, super tight, and displays your cups like a Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade!--> NO! (I really hope you said no else you may have some reevaluation to do lol)

The theory is the same! :D

My Perfume of the Month

Cashmere Mist ~ DonnaKaran

I love trying new fragrances. They are one of my favorite type of accessories because honestly, when you look pretty you should smell pretty too and even when you don't look your best at least you smell AMAZING!

I often enjoy changing my fragrances and have developed a few favorites :). I like the variety and enjoy switching fragrances depending on my mood and outfit.

Cashmere Mist though is a brilliantly subtle and feminine fragrance that embodies the timeless sophistication that DonnaKaren is.  I find it to be a great balance between feminine and sophistication, and has a fresh crisp feeling to it that lives up to it's name. `Cashmere Mist .

o.. O... OK .. Runway?

So I recently caught up with Basketball Wives LA, (I know I know... such a horrible portrayal of minority women, but everyone needs a little trash TV) but while stuck inside hiding from Hurricane Sandy I watched all the episodes for Season 2, (I didn't know the show had even returned) and thought to myself,  "Jackie Christie has a clothing line?" (scratches head in sheer disbelief), with my curiosity now sparked I 'Googled'.

I found this article on B.Scoot with pictures of a "Showcase" at NY Fashion Week of her line and I am a little perplexed. Naturally I scrolled to the comments to see if I was the only person thinking "Huh??!!??"

User Name "Tee" says "some one needs to tell her to knock it off. none of her clothes look like they belong in a collection together, they didnt fit the models correctly, and they were just plan tacky. I like jackie just not that hot mess of a collection"
A little harsh but I have too agree. I found more pictures of collection at RealityTVFashion and I am not impressed. Here are just some of the pieces and my personal opinion, the good, the bad and the ugly.

I do think some of her pieces are nice but then they seem like there is something missing, either the tailoring on the model is a little off or the fabric quality seems, for lack of a better word, "cheap" or the styling itself seems off.  The problem though, is the good pieces, I've seen before. Rip Off??? You be the judge!

The Good
| This is by far the best piece I've seen in her collection |
The problem: It seems like the knock off of something I've seen before.
It seems very similar to Elie Saab's Spring Summer 2012, almost like a combination of some of the pieces in that collection. If you don't believe me you can check the link to the collection yourself.

|I have a love hate relationship with this one |
The problem: The same as the first one it is very similar to Elie Saab's Spring Summer 2012.
The other Problem: It seemed a little tacky to me. The fact that I can plainly see her nude undies just really rubs me the wrong way, especially since it has the potential to be better.

|This one is ok!|
I'm not really in love with it and I honestly think if it wasn't on the body it is on, it would be a no no! The fake SHINY SNAKE SKIN material is just off putting. I don't grasp the concept of the collection. What is this evening gown type dress with no shoes and no accessories? The collection just does not flow very well. Not to mention the lines of where the fabric was stitched together appears to be pulling apart, instead of appearing as a contortion to highlight or enhance the look of the figure. The tailoring seems a little and the way the fabric moves on the bottom, no flow - "Cheap"

|This piece I did like |
I 'm still a little confused about whether the collection is beach or pool attire but I did like the femininity of this one. I am still on the fence about the shoes and the shape of the sunglasses is not flattering to the shape of the model's face.

The Bad
|Just didn't care for it |
I understand the want to pair print with a different solid, but the print paired with a pastel just seemed like it was trying to hard to be different. I also was not too impressed by the shirt and I am not sure if it's the sleeves  or the big ribbon bow in the waist.

|Did Not Like it|
I fail to see the fashion in stripper attire. It just really reminds me of a stripper I mean REALLY! I kept checking the background for a pole!
I'm sorry I didn't care for it. The shoes are something Fierce and I get the whole "I'm a Diva" vibe because I AM A DIVA but this is too much, even the hair is weird. It all just does nothing for me.

Interestingly enough I actually watch the show and her styling is usually great I would love to raid her closet. It seems Jackie played a mean joke on her with this get up!

The Ugly
|I just kept thinking WTH!!|
It looks like they wrapped her in foil, not to mention, it is completely unflattering to the body, and the black clunky shoes ewww!

|What?... are we doing sleep wear now?|
It reminded me of pajamas and no-one wears heels to bed... well unless you had a rough night lmao. I simply thought "SILLY." It just does not look like something you wear out of the house.

The styling is horrible, maybe a solid pastel coloured/colored blazer, with a clutch and some accessories, may have saved it but the pairing here looks like sleeping attire for a 10 year old. She also looks like she is wearing absolutely no makeup (not in a fresh natural way) and no earnings.

|I find it Unflattering|
I love love love that she attempted to cater to other sizes but I didn't find it flattering and the positioning of the propped crap on the shoulder. I Hated it.
She is such a gorgeous woman, I just wish the dress did more. It looks like a bag with a cut out for a head. (I could make this). Not impressed!

| Stylistically it just seemed "Ghetto"|
I do like the idea minus the gold belt (it's too much), but the fit is horrible. The pants are way too tight and are pleating (like pants do when the are hugging the wrong body type or are two sizes too small). I get it I'm thick in the thighs so I appreciate having a thick model but a better fitting outfit would have done some good.
The earnings also are just too much ... I look at it and all I think is "Ghetto"

My overall view:
The whole point of having a runway showing is to showcase your clothing. The importance of accessories, fitting and overall styling of your model are vital aspects to accomplishing that goal. Mrs. Christie has quite a bit to learn if she is really serious about the industry.
